6 Months

My sweet little Cannon is 6 months old today!
At 6 months he loves his jumper and gnaws on everything, and gnawing is quickly turning into BITING! Yes, that's right, two teeth are cutting their way through and if it weren't for the consistent chewing on my fingers whenever he gets the chance I would not have noticed. He is the best teether in the whole world. He's rolling every which way to get what he wants. I'll put him on the floor in our family room and next thing I know he's making his way to the kitchen, all by rolling! He is starting to show a lot of interest in toys which makes it a lot easier on me when he doesn't need constant entertainment. He is such a happy baby, full of smiles and giggles. How did I ever get so lucky!? He's my sweet little buddy and I am so blessed to be his mom. Here's the 6 month pictures I managed to snap of him. While I am probably thee worst picture snapper to ever exist, the pictures are extra bad this month because some little boy is too involved in everything else going on to pay attention to the camera.

Someone's 5 Months Old

Cannon is now 5 months! And he's not happy about it apparently.

I can't believe it's been 5 months with my adorable cutie. How can anyone not love this face.

He is now rolling EVERYWHERE, holding his own bottle when he's not being lazy, sitting up for a few seconds, grabbing everything and putting it in his mouth.

Including the monkey.

So since he is now 5 months old I started him on baby food! I made a decision a while ago to always make his baby food. So for his first meal I made brown rice... Which was more like water with a rice grain in it ;)
Really excited for his first food!

First bite

Didn't think it was that great

And since he ended up wearing the majority of it he had a bath to end it all

I love this little boy so much. I love being his mom. Can't wait for all the other "firsts" we will get to experience in his first year of life.

Grandpa's 94th Birthday Party

My grandpa is the cutest old man you'll ever know. And my amazing family has been so incredibly blessed to have him here to celebrate his 94th birthday with us.

If there is one thing I have learned being in the Alvarez/Speroni/Cardona clan is that if you don't take your own pictures you don't get any sent to you, so I took control and was proactive about taking pictures.. except I'm the worst picture taker in the world and no one listens when I tell them to pose which results in not very many useful pictures. Oh well, I tried :)

So unbelievably grateful for my family and especially for my grandpa who now has 94 years of wisdom. I love getting together with all of these amazing people and even the ones who managed to hide from the camera. I'll get you at his 95th. ;)

Memorial Day Weekend "Getaway"

Aaron and I had planned on going to Sedona for an overnighter memorial day weekend since we couldn't escape town on our anniversary. So, like we always do, we waited until the last minute to book a hotel, which occasionally works out for us, but not this time. Everywhere was completely booked. So Aaron said "Why don't we stay in Scottsdale and spend all day Saturday in Sedona?" Here's why we don't do that: we never made it to Sedona! I'm not a fan of the staycation craze. I think it's silly... I prefer my own house, my own bed, or going out of town, further out of town than Scottsdale... But we had gotten a late start on the day so we decided we would stay in Scottsdale Saturday and head up early Sunday morning to Sedona. We hung out for a few hours at the Scottsdale Mall and looked at the things to do in Scottsdale, which wasn't much that we haven't already done living in Arizona. Then we drove to Lake Pleasant, partly because Aaron wanted to show me his where he was working these past few months- in a Sand and Gravel pit... After "sightseeing" Aaron thought we could hang out on the "beach" of the lake. So we paid $6 to get into Lake Pleasant only to find out there wasn't anywhere us non-boat owners could hang out. So we headed to the Anthem Outlet Mall... Nothing too exciting there. Didn't even run into anyone from "DownSized". LAME!

Finally out of nowhere Aaron gets the idea to go to Tempe Town Lake and rent a boat to hang out on the lake. We had fun in our Pedal Boat relaxing on the water.

If you're wondering "what's wrong with Aaron's right eye?" He got a piece of metal stuck in it helping a friend weld the day before. In these pictures it's still in his eye. Which leads me to the next part of the story: why we didn't end up in Sedona on Sunday.

When we woke up Sunday morning Aaron still wanted to go to Sedona... except for the fact that he could no longer keep his eye open! So instead of Sedona we went to the E.R. which surprisingly wasn't too packed on a Sunday morning. After three hours they got the metal out of his eye and flushed out everything else, EXCEPT for the rust ring, which now, Wednesday morning, is still in his eye since he refuses to make time to see an ophthalmologist.

Getting his eye flushed.
Needless to say, it was not the weekend it was suppose to be but we tried to make the most of it. All I can do is laugh at our epic failure to getaway for a little while.

Luckily, I just look at this adorable face and it makes everything better.

4 months old!

My baby boy is 4 months! I can't believe how fast time has gone!

remember his size when I took his 1 month picture?!

He's been rolling over constantly, from his back to his tummy, then he gets upset because he hasn't mastered the art of pulling his hand out from under him, so he flops back to his back. He's playing so much with toys and anything and everything he's holding finds his way to his mouth. He has the biggest brown eyes and the fullest lips. He's getting to be a chunker and breaking my back when I have to carry him in his carseat.

May 14. 2 Years

2 years has gone by so fast. I'm so grateful that the last 2 years have been spent with this hunk.
Us then

Us on our 1 year anniversary

Us now... the only recent picture of us I have.
2 years down, forever to go... Couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather spend it with

Pictures for Mothers Day

My brother's and I wanted to do something special for my mom's first Mother's Day as a Grandma. So we rallied in my photographer SIL, Angie, and asked for her help. The pictures turned out great, which isn't a surprise when Angie is the photographer. It was hard keeping these a secret for so long but now that Mother's Day is over I thought I would share.

Family pic

The babies and their dads. Cannon looks like he's a midget but those babies are 6 months older than him. He's really a ginormous kid.

My cutie patootie. I love him
